# Settle within the same bank

> How Núclea settles an operation when the debtor and the creditor use the same settlement bank, without the STR, and how you answer through Lerian.

Settle when the debtor and the creditor are served by the same settlement bank. This happens, for example, when your institution settles for an acquirer and is also the merchant's domicile.

<Note>
  This flow is a suggested reading of the Núclea and BACEN manuals. The manuals prevail over this page. Your institution, as the participant, validates the flow and implements it on the Lerian APIs. See [how to read the diagrams](/en/diagrams/introduction).
</Note>

## Participants

***

* **Your institution.** The participant that runs the journey and books its effects.
* **Lerian.** Lerian SLC, Lerian SILOC and Lerian SPB. They exchange the messages with Núclea and STR, and expose the API and the events your institution uses.
* **Núclea.** Runs the SLC and SILOC clearinghouses and their settlement windows.

## Steps

***

| # | From | To | Message | Lerian API | What happens |
| - | - | - | - | - | - |
| 1 | Núclea | Lerian | `LTR0007` | | Núclea informs an operation between two participants that your institution settles for. |
| 2 | Lerian | Your institution | Lerian API | [`GET /v1/lbtr/nonliquidante-operations`](/en/reference/rails/slc/list-lbtr-non-settlor-operations) | Read the announced operation and whether Núclea asked for a confirmation. |
| 3 | Your institution | Your institution | Internal step | | Check the debtor's account. If you will confirm, debit and credit the two internal accounts. If you will reject, book nothing. |
| 4 | Your institution | Lerian | Lerian API | [`POST /v1/lbtr/nonliquidante-operations/{operationId}/decision`](/en/reference/rails/slc/decide-lbtr-non-settlor-operation) | Answer `CONFIRM` after the two entries, or `REJECT`. The answer is mandatory. |
| 5 | Lerian | Núclea | `LTR0008` | | Lerian sends your answer to Núclea. |
| 6 | Núclea | Lerian | `LTR0008R1` | | Núclea answers the confirmation. |
| 7 | Lerian | Your institution | Lerian API | [`GET /v1/lbtr/commands/{commandId}`](/en/reference/rails/slc/get-lbtr-command) | Read the command and Núclea's answer, as it arrived. |

## How you know it finished

***

The command in `ANSWERED` with `LTR0008R1`. After a confirmation, both internal entries carry the same reference. After a rejection, there are no entries. If the command ends in `REFUSED`, reverse the two entries.
