# Transfer types

> The TED plugin supports three transfer types: TED OUT, TED IN, and P2P.

Each transfer type serves a distinct role in your payment infrastructure.

Here, you'll find:

* [**TED OUT**](/en/midaz/plugins/ted/ted-out): Outbound TED transfers. Your customer initiates a transfer to an external bank account. Requires a two-step flow — initiate, then process.
* [**TED IN**](/en/midaz/plugins/ted/ted-in): Inbound TED transfers. Funds arrive from an external institution and are automatically detected and credited to the recipient's account.
* [**P2P**](/en/midaz/plugins/ted/ted-p2p): Internal transfers between two accounts within the same Lerian instance. Instant, free, and available 24/7 — no external banking rails involved.
