# Product -> Segment

> The Midaz entity formerly known as Product is now Segment, with the codebase and documentation updated for consistency.

To enhance clarity and ensure a better understanding of our structure, we are renaming what was previously called Products in Midaz.

Going forward, they will be called Segments. This change will be reflected across our codebase and documentation to maintain consistency and alignment with our evolving framework.

## What is a Segment?

A ***Segment*** is a cluster of accounts grouped based on specific features and associated benefits. This categorization allows financial institutions to tailor advantages, services, and conditions to meet the unique needs of each segment.
