## Affects

***

Customers and teams reading Lerian documentation to understand how each product's source code is distributed.

This update applies to the documentation portal. It does not change licensing terms, product behavior, or your access to any product.

<Note>
  If you are a licensed customer, your access to Lerian products and their repositories is unchanged. This update only clarifies how source availability is described.
</Note>

## What changed

***

The documentation now describes source availability per product, instead of describing the whole portfolio as source-available.

* **Midaz**, our core ledger, remains source-available and publicly available on [GitHub](https://github.com/LerianStudio/midaz).
* **Fetcher**, our data ingestion service, is also source-available and publicly available on [GitHub](https://github.com/LerianStudio/fetcher).
* **Reporter, Matcher, Flowker, Tracer**, and our plugins are available to licensed customers, with their repositories maintained internally.

The wording was adjusted across the product overviews, "Open by design", "Why Lerian", "Products and plugins", and the getting-started and Postman reference pages. The "Open by design" page now frames Midaz as the source-available core of an open-by-design platform.

### Before and after

| --------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Portfolio description | All Lerian products are source-available, with source code publicly on GitHub. | Midaz and Fetcher are source-available on GitHub; other products are available to licensed customers, with repositories maintained internally. |

## Impact

***

This is a documentation clarification. No product behavior, licensing term, or access level changed as part of this update.

Earlier wording could imply that every product's source code was publicly available. Midaz and Fetcher are source-available. The rest of the portfolio is provided to licensed customers from internally maintained repositories. The documentation now reflects that.

## What you need to do

***

<Steps>
  <Step>
    Nothing is required. Your current access and integrations are unaffected.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    If your evaluation or internal materials describe the full portfolio as source-available, update them to reference Midaz and Fetcher as the source-available products.
  </Step>
</Steps>

### Deadline

None.

### Why

The earlier wording did not match how the products are actually distributed. This update keeps the documentation accurate and reduces confusion when teams evaluate or describe how Lerian products are licensed and made available.
