# Adding a Segment to an Account

> Assign a Segment to an Account to group it by characteristics and apply specific benefits or rules.

Segments can be used to group Accounts based on specific characteristics and associated benefits. To learn more about Segments, refer to the [Segments](/en/midaz/segments) page.

To add a Segment to an Account, follow one of these steps:

    From the **Accounts** page, find the Account that you want to add to the Segment, click the three dots (<Icon icon="ellipsis-vertical" />) from the **Actions** column, and select **Details**.

    Select the **Account Details** tab and select the Segment you want from the drop-down list.

    Click the **Save** button to confirm the procedure.
