## Data deletion options

***

When deleting holders in Midaz Module, you have two options:

* **Soft Delete** (default): The holder is flagged as deleted but remains in the database. Maintains audit trails and allows recovery if needed.

* **Hard Delete**: The holder is permanently removed from the database with no recovery option. Use for complete data removal or regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR requests).

For more information about data security and deletion, see [CRM Data Security](/en/midaz/crm/crm-data-security).

<Note>
  Holders in Midaz Module are your foundation for customer management. Keep holder data accurate and up-to-date to ensure smooth operations and regulatory compliance.
