# Deleting a Segment

> Remove a Segment from the Console when it is no longer used to classify Accounts in your Ledger.

<Danger>
  This action is **permanent**. Once deleted, the Segment **cannot be recovered**. Make sure this is the intended action before proceeding.

To delete a Segment, follow these steps carefully:

    From the **Segments** page, find the Segment that you want to delete, click the three dots (<Icon icon="ellipsis-vertical" />) from the **Actions** column, and select **Delete** .

    A confirmation dialog will appear.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Click **Confirm** to finalize the deletion.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Once confirmed, the **Segment** will be permanently removed from the platform.
  </Step>
