# Editing Asset information

> Update an Asset's name, metadata, or other details from the Console without affecting its balances.

To edit the information of an Asset, follow these steps:

    From the **Assets** page, find the Asset that you want to edit, click the three dots (<Icon icon="ellipsis-vertical" />) from the **Actions** column, and select **Details**.

    The **Edit Asset** form will open on the right side of the screen.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Edit the information as needed and click **Save**.

    * You cannot edit the type of the Asset.
