# Set the institution's cut-off (always equal to or more conservative than the official schedule)

> Sets the institution cut-off: the local time (`HH:MM`) after which the institution stops accepting send requests for the day. The cut-off is always equal to or more conservative than the official STR close. A cut-off later than the official close is refused with 422 `TED-0081`. Optionally, give `timezone` (IANA); the default is the institution time zone.

The change applies immediately, and the service audits it with the caller's identity. The response returns today's effective window, already recalculated. Editor operation; `X-Idempotency` is required.

If the audit trail cannot record the change, TED Lerian refuses it with 503 `TED-9002` and changes nothing: only the audit trail keeps the previous value. Reads stay available.
