# Acknowledge an operational alert

> Records that an operator saw alert {id} and deactivates it, so it leaves the default (active-only) feed; it remains readable with activeOnly=false. The dismissal, its acknowledgement event and its audit row commit together. EVERY alert type is acknowledgeable, including the condition alarms (RELAY_DOWN, CONNECTION_DOWN, CERTIFICATE_EXPIRY, WINDOW_CLOSING): acknowledging asserts that a person saw the alarm, never that the condition ended, so while the condition holds the watcher's next poll raises a FRESH alert and it reappears. An unknown id is 404; an alert another operator already acknowledged (or that cleared itself) is 409, never a silent success. The response omits complementWindowClosesAt: the dismissal reads the alert row alone and performs no recálculo join.
