# Read the gateway's clock

> Answers the gateway's current instant: the clock it judges its own local refusals on, such as a consent signature dated ahead of it.

A console reads it instead of the operator's machine clock, which can be off by minutes or a whole time zone. It takes no input and reads no tenant data.

Dataprev judges its own refusals on its own clock: a listing window that ends ahead of the rail's clock is refused with code GR (Manual 001 v1.9 §3.2.1 p.15). Keep a margin of a minute or so behind this instant for an end bound the rail checks.
