Open a lane

Authorizations

Authorization
string
header
required

Enforced on every transport, with no exempt operation. A person's request — over the default local unix socket exactly as over a TCP listener — must carry a JWT issued by the configured identity provider, which the host verifies itself against that issuer's key set: signature, issuer, expiry, and the person and organisation it names. Requests without a valid one receive 401 NRY-0011. The socket's file permissions are transport and are not an authorisation.

Path Parameters

sessionId
string<uuid>
required

The session's id.

Body

application/json

Request to open a lane. kind side opens a side conversation; kind subagent delegates to a named agent recipe — agent is required in that case, and ignored for kind side.

kind
enum<string>
required
Available options:
side,
subagent
message
string
required

The initial message that starts the lane's first turn.

Minimum string length: 1
agent
string

The agent recipe to delegate to. Required when kind is subagent. Ignored when kind is side: a side conversation always runs the host's read-only explorer, and the lane comes back naming it — an unknown name here is neither honoured nor refused.

Maximum string length: 128

Response

The opened lane.

A parallel track of execution inside a session. The main lane carries the primary conversation; subagent lanes carry delegated work; side lanes carry conversations opened mid-run without interrupting the work. Workflow lanes carry one step of a workflow run: they have no parent lane and sit at depth 0, because a run starts from a request rather than from anybody's turn.
