Teams that rely on Midaz Accounting Routes to validate direct transactions.
What changed
Accounting Routes remain reusable definitions of source, destination, and booking rules. Midaz checks direct transactions against those rules only when route validation is enabled for the Ledger. Route validation is disabled by default. Cancellation is a source-only lifecycle action that releases held funds; it does not require a destination Account. This is a documentation correction of existing behavior, not a runtime release.
Impact
Classification: Action required. A route alone does not enforce transaction checks when route validation is disabled.
What you need to do

Check whether route validation is enabled for every Ledger that relies on Accounting Routes as an enforcement control.

Configure the required Account and Accounting Entry rules before enabling route validation.

Keep cancellation runbooks source-only; do not require a destination Account for that lifecycle action.
