September 1, 2026 Documentation correction Action required

Affects

Teams that create, cancel, or reconcile pending Midaz transactions with overdraft enabled.

What changed

The overdraft guide now correctly states that a PENDING transaction creates a hold; it does not draw overdraft. If the hold would exceed Available, Midaz rejects the transaction with 0018 - Insufficient Funds Error and leaves Available, OnHold, and OverdraftUsed unchanged. Cancelling a pending transaction releases its hold. A pending transaction created by an earlier Midaz version can already carry overdraft, and Midaz still unwinds that legacy state during cancellation. This documentation update records an existing runtime change; it does not announce a separate runtime release.

Impact

Classification: Action required.

What you need to do

1
Update pending-transaction handling, reconciliation, and tests to expect a hold rather than overdraft use and to handle error 0018.

Deadline

Update before the next deployment that creates or cancels pending transactions with overdraft enabled.
