Before you upload
- The screen works on the Active context that you select in the Matcher sidebar. With no context, the screen asks you to select one first.
- The context must be active. For a context in another status, the screen shows an alert and blocks the upload. Click Activate this context to open the context page, then activate the context there. For an archived context, the button is Restore this context. See Managing contexts.
- The context needs a source to receive the file. See Context sources.
Uploading a file
1
Click Operate → New Reconciliation in the Matcher sidebar.
2
In Source leg, select the source that receives the file. Each item shows the source name, its side, and its type.
3
Drop a transaction file onto the upload area, or click the area to browse. You can upload one file at a time. The page shows the name and size of the file.
4
Check the Format. The page fills it from the file name when it can. If it stays empty, select the format.
The Format list groups the built-in formats by region. It also lists your layout templates. See Formats and templates and Layout templates.
5
Optionally, click Preview file. The File preview panel shows the columns that Matcher detects and some sample rows. You can preview a file when its format is delimited (CSV), JSON, XML, or camt.053.
6
Click Upload. A progress bar shows while the file uploads. When Matcher accepts the file, the message Upload accepted appears.
The page accepts files up to 100 MB. For a larger file, the page shows a message and keeps Upload disabled. Split the file into smaller files and upload each one.
Tracking the import
After the upload, an import panel shows the file name, the job ID, and the job status. While the job runs, the panel checks its status every 1.5 seconds, up to 80 times. Click Stop watching to stop the checks. The import continues in Matcher. If the checks stop before the job ends, click Recheck status to check again. When the job ends, the panel shows Total rows, Imported, and Failed rows. Click Dismiss import to close the panel. The Import jobs table below the panel lists the imports of the context, newest first. It refreshes while a job is in progress. Click a row to open the import details. The same table is on the Operational History screen. For its columns and statuses, see Operational history.
Next step
To match the imported transactions, start a run on Operate → Reconciliations. See Running reconciliations.
