Opening the wizard
You can open the wizard from two places:
- On the Configure → Contexts page, click Set up by hand. The wizard starts with a new context.
- On the Matcher dashboard, the Getting started checklist has a Set up by hand button. The wizard opens on the active context, at the first step that you have not completed.
How the wizard works
The wizard shows the six steps in a rail. The header shows how many steps are complete.
- The wizard opens on the first step that you have not completed.
- You can open a completed step or the next step to do. The other steps stay locked.
- Matcher decides when you complete the source, field map, and rule steps. The wizard reads the setup progress of the context from Matcher.
- Click Back to go to the previous step. Click Continue to go to the next step. Continue becomes available when you complete the current step.
- Click Exit setup to leave the wizard and go to the Matcher dashboard. Your work stays saved. You can resume later.
Setup steps
Step 1: Create context
The step shows the same form as New context. Click Create context to save it. The new context becomes the active context in the Matcher sidebar. The wizard then moves to Add sources. When you resume the wizard on an existing context, this step shows the context name, type, and interval.Step 4: Create rules
The step shows the Rules tab first. Add your match rules there. A context with a fee normalization mode also needs a fee rule. After you add the match rules, Matcher can ask for a fee rule. The step then shows the Fee Rules tab. Add a fee rule there. See Context fee rules.Step 5: Activate context
The step shows how many sources and match rules the context has. If Matcher still needs something, a Setup incomplete panel lists each missing item. For example: “Configure at least one fee rule.” The Activate context button becomes available when Matcher reports that the context is ready. Click it to activate the context.Step 6: Run first match
1
Upload a transaction file for a left-side source. Then upload a file for a right-side source. See Uploading reconciliation data.
2
Wait until each side shows its imported rows. Run first match becomes available when both sides have a completed import.
3
Click Run first match. The wizard follows the run until it ends.
